College Track expanded to San Francisco in 2007 and opened a center in the Bayview Hunters Point neighborhood. Beginning with a cohort of fifty freshmen, College Track’s San Francisco center serves 220 students who primarily live in the Bayview Hunters Point, Visitacion Valley/Sunnydale, and Mission/Excelsior neighborhoods, but who attend schools throughout the city. During the fall of 2012, the San Francisco site opens the doors of its brand new center at the heart of the Bayview. The new space will serve 500 students within five years. College Track’s San Francisco center is staffed by a four-person team led by Site Director Omar Butler.
|About San Francisco|
Webster defines pioneer as "a person or group that originates or helps open up a new line of thought or activity..." The 50 9th graders who compose the inaugural class at College Track San Francisco all are pioneers. The students embrace their roles as pioneers, trailblazers, and the standard-bearer for the students who will follow in their footsteps for years to come.
Their motto is "begin with the end in mind" - undertaking actions today that will result in positive outcomes in the future, for themselves, their families, their communities and even their world.
